The Reference material for this painting, was from a country walk, we saw horses in a field and stopped to look; they came right up to the fence and I fed them grass while my husband took photos of them.

This painting is actually the same horse, painted from two reference photos. I made the background up to give it a midnight tryst type look.

my client always wanted to ride her horse Echo on the beach, but was not able to get around to it; this painting places horse and rider on the beach to create a memory. my Client was very happy with the result.
